This family home high in the hills of Monterey Park, overlooking the city of L.A. below, was passed down to the next generation and needed the stamp of its modern inhabitants. The 3,000 square foot remodeling project was driven by the owners’ desire for green building materials, including bamboo floors and repurposing of existing materials with new finishes.
Large new openings from the living room and dining room clad with energy efficient doors help open the house up to the outdoors while custom kitchen cabinetry and reflective glass tile help connect the interior to the pool and the classic Southern California views beyond.
