This traditional “English Country Style” house is designed on a three-acre site in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, close to the Cranbrook Academy. The style of the house is influenced by the buildings of the academy and the older residences that surround it. Like a traditional country estate the main entry is formal with a symmetrical and balanced façade.
The plan is organized along an axis that extends from the center of the living area beyond into the gardens, pool, and the pool house is situated at the end of the axial view. The garage is modeled and designed as a carriage house with offices for the owners above.
