Karin Mahle has been an associate at Scrafano Architects since 1999. She
joined the firm after working in the Los Angeles offices of Frederick Fisher
and Eric Owen Moss, where she met Elissa.
Karin graduated from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, with an Engineering
Degree in Architecture. She was a guest student at SCI-Arc. After graduating,
she worked for Dominique Perrault in Paris.
When Karin is not working at Scrafano
Architects, she is doing research for design guides to Los Angeles. Her book “Cool
Restaurants Los Angeles” was on the bestseller list of the Los Angeles
Times. She keeps shuffling her two other books, “Cool Shops Los Angeles” and “and:guide
Los Angeles,” around on bookstore shelves in hopes they will make the
bestseller list as well. Karin also loves to cook and bake, and edits cookbooks.
