Elissa Scrafano, principal and founder of Scrafano Architects, has been practicing architecture for more than 20 years and is a registered architect in California, Michigan and Illinois.

Elissa has taught at SCI-Arc, University of California at Irvine, and Woodbury University. She worked at the offices of Frank O. Gehry and Associates, Eric Owen Moss Architects, and Narduli Grinstein Architects before establishing Scrafano Architects in 1997.

Elissa received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a Masters in Architecture with honors from Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) in Los Angeles. She was a guest student at the Architectural Association in London, and the Staadelschule in Frankfurt, Germany. 

In addition to architecture, Elissa is passionate about product design, fashion, cooking, traveling, books, music, hiking and skiing.
